The Jape Group of Companies was founded by Mr Jape Kong Su in Darwin, Northern Territory in 1976 and is family owned. From the success of commercial property projects in the Darwin city centre in the 1980's the Jape Group prospered and progressed to the development of the Jape Homemaker Village in 1989.
Situated on over 63,000sqm of land in a prime location central to the CBD and Darwin's northern suburbs, the Jape Homemaker Village today is a shopping destination accommodating a synergy of businesses. Specialty outlets through to large national retailers provide visitors to the centre all manner of goods and services in keeping with the outdoors and lifestyle of the Top End.
With Stage 6 having been completed in 2012 there is now one stage of the Jape Homemaker Village Master Plan remaining for development. It’s expected this will commence in 2014.
Maintaining strong ties with Timor Leste the Jape Group is again involved in property development with the multi storey mixed use Timor Plaza project in Dili now complete and development of surrounding land under way.
Since its conception the Jape Group of Companies has experienced solid growth. In addition to the strength of its property development portfolio the Jape Group features strongly in the retail sector and owns the Jape Furnishing Superstore, Jape Commercial Interiors and Forty Winks stores at the Jape Homemaker Village.
